AAVS has been conducting Animation Filmmaking workshops with children since 1990.

Films made through these workshops have featured in the Hiroshima International Animation Film Festival, Japan, Anncy International Animation Film Festival, France, Festival of Animation Films, India International Center and Asian Conference on Storytelling, India Habitat Center, National Science Center, Delhi.

The growing animation film industry offers many career opportunities in film, television, advertising, graphics, educational games, CD-ROM presentations and the internet.

Duration: 30 hours

Fees: Rs. 2500/= per student.

Note: All art materials, broadcast video camera and non-linear editing equipment will be supplied.

Animation Filmmaking Workshops for Children

The workshop will introduce students to all aspects of animation filmmaking:

1. Introduction: The workshop begins with an introduction to the history of animation, explaining all animation art forms including Cel animation, Stop Motion animation, 2D and 3D Computer animation and Special Effects.

2. Creative Story Writing: Reading and writing an original story, developing an idea into a story and story telling techniques.

3. Story Board and Comic Book Making: An original story is visualized and converted into a Story Board and Comic Book. Locations, sets and characters are visualized.

4. Sets and background painting: All the locations for the film story are painted.


5. Character development:
Original cartoon characters are created and their models are developed.

6. Camera work: Students get hands-on experience of operating Broadcast Quality Video equipment while they shoot their animation film.

7. Editing: The students edit their film using state-of-the-art computer based Non-Linear Editing systems.

Animation films made in these workshops are entered in national and international film festivals and broadcast if selected.

Each student will receive a VCD of their film and a Certificate of Participation.
