Nitin Donde BSc Physics (Hon) PGDBM. Angles Audio Visual Studio Nitin Donde has been taking photographs since his school days in 1976. Interested in the visual arts, he left his management job in Indian Express and decided to live off his cameras since 1985. He has been the cameraman and director of more than 20 documentary films, some of which have featured in Mumbai International Film Festivals and the Unesco Festival of Documentary films. In 1990, Nitin decided to work with children, exploring their creativity through the visual arts and experimenting with animation films. Films made by him and his students through the Animation Filmmaking Workshops that he conducts have featured in a Collection of Animation Films Made by Children of the World. Over the years, five such films have premiered at the Hiroshima International Animation Film Festival, Japan and the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, France. Nitin spearheads a series of animation films he calls, “Traditional Tribal Arts in Animation”. He has been working with traditional tribal Indian artists and developing their art and folklore into animation films for children. These films have featured in the National Geographic All Roads Film Festival in Hollywood, Washington, Santa Fe and California. They have been screened in several film festivals and forums on ethnic Indian art. Guided by the advice of renouned artist Late Meshomoshai Bon Bihari Ghosh, Nitin has been using his photographic art to study nature and the world around him. For 2 years he studied water, photographing it from the glaciers of the Himalayas and following the mountain stream to the river and the river to the sea; ending the study in the deserts of Rajasthan. “Tej” or “Inner Glow” has also been an important subject in Nitin's photographic studies. “Swambhu” or “Self Appearing” images, there for a fraction of a second, glimpses of divinity in nature, can be seen in Nitin's work. Nitin Photographs have featured in several exhibitions. Recently he was invited to screen his tribal art animation films and photographs of traditional tribal Indian artists and art works at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, France. Presently Nitin teaches Animation Filmmaking to students at the Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Delhi and to more than 500 children across India. In June 2009 he was invited to conduct a Children's animation filmmaking workshop organized by the YMCA at the Grant Middle School, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. His animation film scripts, “The Whirling Dervish” have been purchased by the One Skin Suit Inc. USA. Anupam Sen Gupta Anupam has worked with various schools like some branches Delhi Public School, Starex International School, D.A.V, The Shriram School, The Heritage School, DPS International School among others as a freelance music educator and adviser. In 2002, his band The Karmic Circle was selected in the top 12 in India at the Levi's Great Indian Rock. Besides he was a national finalist in 1996. Same year he opened his guitar school, Guitar Workshop and went to become the first step towards corporatization of music education in North India. Over the years the school expanded to 4 branches in Delhi NCR and 1 in Jaipur. His students have formed various bands and some have taken up music professionally. ‘Illusion' the youngest band trained by him has earned place in the Limca Book of Records as the youngest band in India to have released an album. The album was released by Shubha Mudglas' record label, Underscore Records. At the moment, Anupam has leased the schools and concentrates in corporate workshops, music direction, allied application of music and consultancy. He has tied up with a leading brand consultant to venture into aural designing, sonic branding and team building workshops for corporate. They have partnered to form Isquare Ventures and Anthems. Anupam has conducted workshop for clients like Cairn Energy, WWF North Bank Landscape, Baxter India, Hewlett - Packard Asia Pacific in Singapore, Hewlett - Packard Storage works in India, ITC WelcomHotel, Genpact among others. He has designed sound for 36 animation films for AAVS, a film by Dadi Pudmji for UNESCO, Shadow of Time by Katherine Widgery, signature tunes for Regilare, signature tune for Viva (Dubai), Godfrey Philips brand promotion among other documentaries and corporate films. He is a freelance facilitator / consultant with Fever 104 FM powered by Virgin and is working with international internet radio stations for launch and promotion in India. Anupam understands corporate needs well and is a veteran blues guitar player actively playing music for the past 28 years. Website: www.anupamsengupta.com Bart Roychoudhury A graduate in Economics from Shriram College of Commerce he joined the Ministry of External Affairs. He was posted to the Indian Missions in Zimbabwe and Ethiopia. After 11 years of service he resigned from his job to settle down in Africa. He left India in 1995 and lived in Harare, Zimbabwe for 5 years after which he moved to Johannesburg in South Africa where his family still live. He excelled in the field of Marketing and Sales, started up his own Company. He has worked as a Consultant in diverse fields for various companies and is now in India as the Country Representative of a South African company. Bart has always been socially very active in the Indian community, had a stint as the Assistant General Secretary of the Hindoo Society in Harare which managed two schools and has spent time working with children. As a member of the Advisory Board, Bart has a new vision - to take Animation Films Made by Children for the promotion of socially relevant issues; for the cause of global peace and harmony. Bart has great plans – to market the artistic skills of animation artists to television news channels and United Nations organizations. He is also developing a project to train and develop traditional tribal arts and folklore into animation films for children. Mr Amit Sood A person of many interests, he has more than 20 years of experience in working in Public Relations and Liaison with the Government and international organizations. An avid reader, Amit started taking an interest is children's activities, to understand the present state of school education and inculcate creativity amongst children. This concern has resulted in his taking up their cause for development and growth. Amit understands the potential of conveying messages to children through the art of animation filmmaking. He is working on projects with NCERT and Doordarshan to develop educative content through the use of animation. He is also collaborating with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to develop and design an animated website which will be used by schools to develop a scientific temperament amongst children. |
