A storyboard is like a comic book. The sory board is a linear representation of the situations and events that make up the story. It helps in building an understanding of the sets and locations required for the animation film. It places into perspectives the characters required for each scene.
For each sequence of the story, draw a frame defining the sets and locations and the movement of characters. Plan the animation movement so that each sequence flows into the other. Use close ups, normal shots and wide angle frames to build the story board. Draw out the set of facial expressions required. Plan the timing of each sequence and make notes about the lighting and sound for the sequences. Think of effects, star bursts, smoke, lightening etc. which can help bring out the events effectively. While making the story board one is moving from the world of words to a world of visuals. Once the story board is made, the film is almost over. Close your eyes and see the film flowing from sequence to sequence in your mind's eye! |
Visualise it before you can realize it! |
